    Techne Dri-Block heaters are the ideal solution to the laboratory's need for a compact constant temperature heater. Dri-blocks are particularly suitable for microbiology and clinical laboratories for incubation, boiling, inactivation, wet ashing, sample concentration, enzyme analysis and other general uses. They are also used for a varity of industrial applications. The heat transfer medium is an aluminium alloy block with machined cavities to accept the tubes or sample containers.

    Construction
    Dri-Block heater units have a recessed chamber to hold interchangeable insert blocks. THe DB-2A and DB-2D can hold up to two aluminium insert blocks. The DB-2A and DB-2D can hold up to two aluminium insert blocks or one 9-well plate block. The DB-3, DB-3A and DB-3D can hold up to three inset blocks or one 96-wel plate. If the full compliment of inset blocks are used, plasic spacers can be employed to fill the recess in the unit ensuring good thermal performance. The blocks are made of an aluminium alloy wihich has excellent thermal conductivity and are grilled with a choice of different hole sizes for tubes or containers, ranging from 6mm to 26mm diameter.

    Other blocks are available, including three for 0.5ml, 1.5ml or 2.0ml microcentrifuge tubes and two alternative sizes undrilled for customers who wish to machine to their own requirements. Each aluminium alloy insert blocks has a threaded thermometer hole which also accepts the insert block extraction took for ease of removing insert blocks from the heated chamber (not applicable to insert blocks reference F4467, F4468, F4469)

    A close fitting of the tube ensures a high heat transference and the heater design, temerature sensor and solid state circuitry give exceptionally good temperature control uniformity. Independent lights which indicate mains power, heater action and over temperature conditions are incorporated and an on/off switch is mounted on the rear panel. The units are strongly constructed, light in weight and have extremely efficent insulation to ensure taht the case remians cool enough to handle even at maximum operating temperatures.

    Safety
    The Dri-Block range has been designed to comply with all RF interference and electrical safety regulations.

    The Models

  • The economical & easy to use DB-2A is designed to take up to two alumium alloy insert blocks. Temperature setting is by calibrated knob/dial in degrees celsius Temperature range 25DegreesC.




  • The DB-2D is similar in design to the DB-2A but has a bright red LED digita display for fast and accutrate setting of temperature. The temperature is set using the set and the Up or Down buttons and is displayed on the LED panel. The DB-2D can also be supplied with an RS232 connection for software control.




  • The DB-3 is designed to take three aluminium alloy insert blocks. Temperature setting is by a calibrated knob/dial in degrees celsuis. Temperature range 25DegressC to 100DegressC.




  • The DB-3A is similar in design to the DB-3 but witha temperature range of 25DegreesC to 200DegreesC, for techniques requiring highter temperature.




  • The DB-3D is similar in design to the DB-3A but has a red LED digital display. The temperature is set using the set and the Up or Down buttons and is displayed on the LED panel. Temperature range 25DegreesC to 200DegreesC. The DB03D can also be supplied with an RS232 connection for use with software control.
