Verniers Microscopes - PTI
2150 - Vernier Microscope
Vernier Microscope No. 2150 is the simplest and least expensive
of our range. It is intended to meet the demand for an instrument with
a reasonable degree of accuracy which is, at the same time, capable
of withstanding the harsh treatment to which instruments are subjected
when first introduced into school practical work. The microscope can
be swivelled such that it can either view parallel or perpendicular
to the motion. In this instrument coarse adjustment of the carriage
is effected by manual pressure, as the carriage is held to the fine
adjustment thrust-rod by spring tension. Fine adjustment is amde by
means of a fine thread screw. the instrument is also suitable for use
on end, or on the front face.
Technical Specification
Vernier Microscope No. 2150 has a travel of 100 mm with vernier
reading to 0.1 mm.
The microscope is supplied complete with 30 mm objective, 10% Ramsden
eyepiece, and glass crossline graticule. Focusing is by friction rack
and pinion.
The complete instrument is packed in a polished case and weighs approximately
5.5kg.
Price: £693.00
2152 - Vernier Microscope
These vernier microscopes are more refined versions of the No. 2150
model, and together with microscope No. 2158 are the standard instruments
used in schools and colleges. In addition to operating to a greater
accuracy, they incorporate features enabling them to be used for a greater
range of experiments.
The carriage slides on a cast-iron base and is guided by means of a
vee and flat machined in the base. The carriage has a locking screw,
release of which permits free manual movement of the carriage. Fine
adjustment is by meansof the fine thread screw at the end of the slide.
The saddle carries the vernier, which is read by means of a swivelling
magnifier. The microscope can be mounted with its axis in any one of
the three directions with respect to the travel. The base carries a
metal stage plate and this can be removed to enable the microscope to
view through the base when using the instrument as a short range cathetometer.
Technical Specification
The instruments, which are supplied in polished cases, are identical
except for travel and weight, and are supplied complete with 50 mm objective,
7x ramsden eyepiece, and glass crossline graticule, giving an overall
magnification of approximately 20x. The microscope is focused by friction
rack and pinion, and it is fitted with a draw tube.
Vernier Microscope No. 2152 has a travel of 165 mm with vernier reading
to 0.01 mm and weighs approximately 10 kg.
Vernier Microscope No. 2155 has a travel of 300 mm with vernier reading
to 0.01 mm and weighs approximately 14 kg.
Price: £1100.00
2158 - Vernier Microscope
This instrument has calibrated movements in one horizontal direction
and also vertically. the cast-iron base has three levelling screws,
and is machined to take a kinematically mounted horizontal carriage
which supports the vertical column. This carriage has a small circular
level, and also carries a magnifier for reading the horizontal scale.
The verical column, which has graduations cut directly into it, carries
the vertical carriage on which is mounted the microscope. This microscope
can be fitted to either side of the vertical column to suit the user's
prefernce, and can be set to be horizontal or vertical. Both carriages
have locking screws, releasing which enables free manual movement of
the carriages, and fine adjustment is by means of the fine thread screw
at the end of each slide. The base is fitted with a metal stage plate.
Technical Specification
Vernier microscope No. 2158 has a travel of 165 mm horizontall, 120
mm vertically, with verniers reading 0.01 mm. The microscope unit, which
is fitted with a draw tube, is supplied complete with 50 mm objective,
7x ramsden eyepiece and glass crossline graticule, giving an overall magnification
of approximately 20x and focusing is by friction rack and pinion. the
instrument is supplied in a polished case and weighs approximately 10
kg.
